Purpose and impact is good for business: It improves strategic decision making, creates strong teams and makes customers happy.

Harnessing your purpose to drive business development is just part of being a good modern business. Come along to find out how to tweak and improve your social mission to get it working for you.

Who this event is for?

This meet up is for people living and working in Charnwood with an interest in social ventures, for the full spectrum of social ventures from 'profit and purpose' to 'not for profit'. You may be from a small community organisation or a large business wanting to develop their social impact.

This event will be useful for you if you are a community worker, social entrepreneur, entrepreneur, manager or board director. You can also be a student, academic or researcher. By coming together we can learn from each other, increase collective action, find partners for future projects, and build your network. Come along to find out more about social ventures and plug into further support.

What you'll gain:

  • The role of purpose in making meaning for staff, stakeholders, suppliers and customers
  • An overview of B.Corp standards and accreditation from someone who has been there and done it
  • How being a B.Corp can bring you more of the right customers

About our speakers:

Kevin Dunn, Co-Founder of the B-Side, and Impact Lead at Furnley House. Kevin helps Furnley House with their acquisition strategy, attracting like-minded financial advice businesses to scale the business and grow impact within more communities, whilst upholding the B.Corp principles

Tobias Gould, from Community Enterprise Engine. Tobias is an expert in business and social innovation. He is a co-author of the Government's Help to Grow course, and runs a Growth Accelerator for Social Entrepreneurs
