Profile
Professor Daniel Rhind’s research has assisted global sports organisations in keeping over 50 million young people safe when playing sport. It focuses on safeguarding people in sport, with specific emphasis on protecting children and young people. His work has been central to the development of the International Safeguards for Children in Sport, which are now endorsed by hundred s of organisations worldwide.
Daniel’s work has informed policy and practice across global sport, including how major sporting events are planned and delivered in accordance with children’s rights, and how sport can be used to promote life skills and wellbeing.
He is a regular contributor to national media including BBC News, BBC Radio Five Live and Newsnight and provides expert commentary for international outlets including ESPN, NHK (Japan), TRT World and CCTV (China) on safeguarding and welfare in sport.
